This entire journey, and the reason this website exists, all started because of an algorithm.
One day, YouTube decided to show me a video about “Homelabs.” The thumbnail featured one of those rack servers you often see in movies and TV shows. My immediate reaction was, “Why would anyone want one of those in their house? Better yet, why would anyone need one?” The answer, it turns out, is the same reason some people buy high-end cars that far exceed the necessities of transportation, or why others buy guns that are more than capable of hunting or blowing an intruder out your front door and into your neighbor’s tree.
Because. It’s. Fucking. Cool.
Of course, this isn’t for everyone. Some people prefer simplicity. They like their burritos without queso, their cheeseburgers with just cheese, their sex missionary, and their computers just a step above an iPhone with basic internet access and a default Wi-Fi password.
Usually, I am that person. Ask anyone. But alongside being ordinary as fuck, I am easily entertained and have an insatiable thirst for learning new things. All kinds of things. I want this website to chronicle what I learn, why I learned it, and what comes of it.
Stay Tuned!
